Kingston Attorney Hanan M. Isaacs Elected to the Board of Directors for the National Employment Lawyers Association – New Jersey

Tuesday, May 11, 2010

(Kingston, N.J.) May 11 – Attorney Hanan M. Isaacs was elected to serve a two-year term as a member of the Board of Directors for the New Jersey chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA). NELA is the largest plaintiffs’ lawyers association in the country, and the New Jersey chapter is the most prominent in the state.

Upon hearing of his election, Attorney Isaacs said, “I am honored to be a member of the NELA-NJ Board of Directors for the next two years. Because the organization is the largest plaintiffs’ lawyers’ association in both the nation and New Jersey, this opportunity will give me the ability to consult electronically with hundreds of other employment law experts located throughout New Jersey and the United States. That is an exciting, yet humbling, prospect.”

The over 3,500 members of NELA primarily represent clients in employment-related cases such as discrimination, wrongful termination and denial of benefits and they work for equality and justice in the workplace.

As a NELA-NJ board member, Isaacs will help to set policies and give direction to the affiliate organization. He will participate in decisions about when and how to educate the three branches of the New Jersey government – the executive, legislative and judicial branches – on employment law issues. Isaacs will also work with other board members to oversee all aspects of the organization’s employment education programming and amicus, or friend of the court, brief filings in employment-related cases in New Jersey.

After almost 30 years of experience as a practicing attorney, mediator and arbitrator, Attorney Isaacs currently focuses his legal practice on employment law litigation, in addition to family law and civil litigation. Isaacs has prevailed in several high-profile employee civil rights cases against the federal government and has also arbitrated and mediated employment and other disputes in New Jersey. Isaacs has held previous positions in professional organizations and worked as an adjunct law professor, legal author and public speaker.

Attorney Isaacs was named one of the top five percent of lawyers practicing in his state in the New Jersey Super Lawyers magazine for 2010. He was also named by his peers as a top attorney in Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Best Lawyers in America publication from 2006 to 2009.
